I was born in 1960, my children were born between 78 and 87, my oldest grandchild was born, in 1996. They have grown up without the kind of direction and guidance that the generations before them had. I live in Detroit, Michigan, and I see our young people going wild. I am a mother of 4, aunt to a dozen, and a mentor to dozens more.

I am not a sociologist or psychiatrist, but I have insight about the challenges of our youth today.

I developed this program to address some of the issues facing the young black community in America. My Village Project is a blog that supports youth mentoring, by exploring contemporary Issues through the lens of Black Culture.
